ART ADVISOR – MIAMI FL, USA
Heike Dempster is a bilingual art writer, art advisor and communications consultant based in Miami, USA. Born and raised in Germany, Heike moved to the UK to pursue her BA in Caribbean Studies and English at London Metropolitan University. She continued her Cultural Studies research at the University of the West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica and simultaneously started a PR firm promoting musical and visual artists internationally.
In 2010 Heike relocated to Miami, USA, where she has been actively involved in the art scene as a freelance writer, advisor and consultant. Heike also worked as the Marketing Manager for the Perez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), a modern and contemporary art museum.
Heike has been published internationally in magazines such as Rooms-Art Uncovered, Art Ltd., Art Pulse, Art District, Aesthetica, Wonderland, Miami New Times, Miami Artzine, Ocean Style, Nu Woman, and Irreversible. She has covered exhibitions and art fairs including the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Contemporary African Diasporan Arts in New York, Haus der Kunst and Pinakothek der Moderne in Munich, Germany, the Bass Museum of Art in Miami, Art Basel Miami Beach, Art Miami, Untitled, Scope Miami Beach, Scope New York, and Stroke Art Fair Munich.
She has interviewed curators and artists such as Wangechi Mutu, Nari Ward, Mark Handforth, and Adler Guerrier and is herself an avid art collector.
