Emerging artist Vicky Ng is interested in exploring the inner world of people. Her artworks in early days were the childhood portraits of her family members. This projected the artist’s inner desire for childhood happiness. Yet, all the children in the painting look gloomy, which also expresses the insecurity and anxiety of the artist.
In her recent artwork, the artist reveals her views on the realistic and dream world, which are very contradictory. The bright colours used to portray the children portraits represents the purity and happiness of children. This is the dream world; while the real world focuses on the suppression of true feelings and thoughts by having all the mouths of the children sealed by flowers.
